Hi

Now my next problematic video card - a Compaq OEM TNT2 Pro 16MB as seen below.

It doesn't display any startup text at boot, and when running displays windows 98 desktop without issue, and passes the dxdiag directdraw test but then fails the Direct3D - the software rendering part works but the hardware test just gives a blank screen, then complains about a 0x00000000 error.

This is with the v45.23 driver, and occurs in both systems I've tried it in

- AthlonXP-M, Chaintech 7NJL3 nforce 2 400, all on board devices except IDE disabled (Serial, parallel, audio, lan etc), Cruicial 64GB SSD via Startech IDE-SATA adapter
- Athlon XP 1800+, Asus A7V333 (SiS745) , 80GB WD HDD

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Hmm, those cards ran really hot, I wouldn't be one bit surprised if there was a problem with the core itself, or one of solder joints under it

Yeah, I figured that was probably the case. I'll see if it works for the purpose it was gotten for (since the 2D and DirectDraw bits work), and if not guess I'll be looking for a replacement.
