Hello,
Having been presented with an ASUS X55SR notebook, I want to install Windows XP on it. Its video adapter is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470. Has anybody been able to install a driver for it in XP, and how? Having seen reports that the 3450 works on XP, e.g.:

Also, I tried out JK1 on my notebook with a Radeon 3450 and it ran fine in XP 32-bit.

I am willing to try the 3450 driver the way swaaye did, but he did not explain his procedure. Nor do I think that either the 3470 or the 3450 have officially supported drivers for Windows XP. At least, I have not found these models mentioned in the serveral driver packs I checked, e.g. 13-1_xp32_dd_ccc_whql.exe and 13-4_xp32_dd_ccc_whql.exe. Over on Reddit, I read this trick for installing a driver for the 3450 by modifying the .inf file, but did not understand it. Can someone help?

I have found the driver in Microsoft Update Catalog, and uploaded it elsewhere¹, just in case. I confirm that it works in Windows XP Professional SP3.
