Well i renovated a old rusty pc case, and built a windows 98/xp dual boot pc. Its great, but i have been gifted this Compex rl2000 card. I know my way around most software but i cant seem for the life of me get this card to work on windows 98. It works on xp, but windows 98 shows the card as not working in device manager, and when i disable it windows automatically installs a driver and after a reboot tells me that it doesn't work. I tried lots if different drivers but it just keeps not working. Maybe some of you know how to make this card work, because i would really appreciate any help! Because i want to connect this to the lan and play some local stronghold crusader. Il add some photos of the card.

Do you have these drivers https://theretroweb.com/expansioncards/s/comp … 2000-pci#driver
Also, UTILITY RLASET (from the driver set) should be used to make sure the card is set to PNP mode, so that Windows can manage the resources
Should also be able to run with Windows native NE2000 driver.
The problem may be that it is set to non-PNP, possibly with resources that are unavailable

Given that it works in XP, I'd agree with Matth79 in thinking its a resource issue.
Other options if PNP refuses to play nice is try setting the resources to the same used in XP
or I assume you can manually set the cards resources rlaset utility Matth79 mentioned
