It's been a while since I went through the SoftMPU documentation. I believe the /IRQ settings for SoftMPU is for enabling the SBMIDI mode that's used for sound cards that didn't have a hardware MPU401, not as the IRQ to use for the intelligent mode MPU it's providing.

Since Wingcommander was either only Adlib or MT-32. Could you modify your SET BLASTER in autoexec.bat to use IRQ 9 rather than 7? Then try softmpu with only the /MPU:330 switch. Then try the delaysysex switch if you still have issues.

Still a no go. I'm about to just give up on using this McCake and sell it to someone who has better luck than I seem to haha

I've tried the Unisound driver instead of the Yamaha ones and still no dice

Well I got it to work with a TM32 from my other computer so I guess it's something with the McCake not liking my setup

Did you never check the external MIDI volume from the Yamaha's software mixer?

Did your McCake a display? Mine did but it's internal only. You should be activity on that display when in MT-32 mode. Was there anything when you tried Wingcommander?

I might get back around to installing and just making sure my line in volume was set properly in the mixer but I know it seemed to work in Windows 3.1 so shouldn't have been an issue

The midi daughter board input should be a different volume slider from line in.

That's a very good point I haven't thought about. Maybe I'll put it back in and give it a check
