Hi decided to dig out my RW anthology CDs and install it on my new laptop, however I'm running into some problems and wondered if anyone here could help.

I installed the windows version and that one didn't even run, so i went through dosbox and installed the DOS version, it boots up the music and SFX play but when characters are supposed to talk the portraits have no mouth movement and no voices, and they only blink then the next character frame comes up. Not sure what the problem is if anyone can help me out I'd appricate it.

Running Windows vista SP1.

Make sure there is no DOS virus executing in DOSBox which formats your Vista hard disk. 😮

Read my 60 Seconds Guide to DOSBox (and don't just read it - follow it too).

If that doesn't help, come back with details on how you mounted your C and D drives, how you did the install, how you configured sound, music etc.

Yea, read the guide followed it to the T still same bug. deleted the game, isntalled it with the method in your guide too, same deal.

The CD drive is F, but I mounted it like "z:\mount D "F:\" -t cdrom"
(no quotes around it just fyi 😜)

not sure whats going on!

configured music with general midi (works fine)

used sound blaster for audio.

installed as in your guide after mounting the particular drive went into the lb2 folder on the CD install.exe everything appeared to go smoothly

woot just got it to work! 😁

apparently in the resource cfg file it said

audio = d:\

and that was it.

so i added

audio = d:\lb2

it was just looking in the wrong folder for the audio file apparently.

😀 thanks for all your help guys, off to play 😁

hey I have the exact same problem. how did you fix it again? how do you access that file? I'm pretty sure I'm in the same boat as you were, and I don't know how you got it to work.
