Hello, im new here and new with DOSBox.

I have windows Vista and the original Carmageddon CD. (Carmageddon 1)
I followed all steps on this site to install it (i ended up installing it without DOSBox, because that didnt work, but its installed now). So when i try to open it (carm95 file) it says: "This program cannot be run in DOS mode."

And when i open the Carma file, i have to fill in a password. After 3 times of entering a password it starts and my Carmageddon game opens. But when i press 'new game', its says: "Please insert the Carmageddon CD"

The thing is, my carmageddon CD is still in my CD drive and i just cant play it, and i have no idea what to do know. So if anyone could help me, it would be awesome!

Ramon

This "open" thing - does that involves a mouse and clicking on stuff?

Whoops, sorry for not being specific about that.

But nope, i "open" these things with DOSBox, like how its written in the guides on this site (mount C C:\dbgames , after that C: and then i just type CARM95 or Carma to open it)

Sorry for that.

you are running the windows 95 executable in dosbox. Try the DOS executable. not sure if that is part of your version of carmagadon though.

Read my 60 Seconds Guide to DOSBox (and don't just read it - follow it too).

If that doesn't help, come back with details on how you mounted your C and D drives, how you did the install, how you configured sound, music etc.

Hnnn. You did? I must be getting old then, because I thought I remembered that there were more steps in my guide, but according to you:

According to you, there are only 3 steps in the guide:

1) Mount C C:\dbgames
2) C:
3) Carma

It must have been in other another life, that I made a guide that also mentioned something about installing and configuring. Oh well, must be getting old.

I think i mentioned that installing part..
And yes, i also configured the sounds (dont see what that has to do with a missing CD...)

So, what part did i miss?

Hi.

I have a problem with this also. I read your 60 second guide. I have trouble with this installing part, as I have the W95 version of the CD, the setup.exe is a Windows executable, so I cannot install it in dosbox. Any tips to get around this?
