I looked up eBay and most of them had a lot of TNT2 M64, so I tried searching for TNT2 Ultra, and it came up with a smaller number. There was no sale. I already have the entry-level Tnt2 m64, but as I said before, I have a little frame drop. So I want to get it on eBay now, but can I get it someday if I wait? I need it. It's for Alien vs Predator.

Why do you want TNT 2 Ultra in particular? There are faster GPUs that are cheaper. But I guess whether that's a good idea, depends on what CPU / Motherboard you currently have. Newer GPUs need newer drivers, and need newer CPUs to avoid being slowed down

I have a Pentium 3 practical skill. That's why I use it. A lot of the 1999 games support TNT2.

A Geforce 2 MX card is much cheaper and more common, with better performance than the TNT 2 Ultra with most if not all of the compatibility. With a P3 you might even see big benefits vs the TNT. A TNT Pro, or a Compaq, Dell, generic TNT 2 Pro might even be a decent search if you want to widen the net for a "full" TNT 2. Also iirc the original TNT will on average out perform a Vanta or TNT 2 M64

Geforce 2 MX with the Nvidia Detonator 6.31 drivers was what I used for a while in my Pentium 3 build. Should be noticeably faster than a TNT 2 Ultra without sacrificing compatibility in most games. I don't remember having any issues with AvP on this setup.

The game from 1998 to 1999 has a fixed graphics card specification. For example, if you turn on the pedestrian option in Midtown Madness, you'll have compatibility issues with the afterimage on GeForce MX, but not at all on Riva TNT2. That's why I'm trying to get the TNT2 Ultra.

What about TNT 2 Pro? That's almost as fast as the Ultra. It came out later though, so needs slightly newer drivers.

That's fine too. My Nvidia driver is running version 21.81.

Don't know where you are, there's an Elsa Erazor III Pro in UK, £19.99, tested but minus heatsink and plate

I often wonder why you see for sale working GPUs that are missing the heatsink or the slot bracket. Why would anyone remove them if it works?

Recycler picks. Surprisingly less expensive to buy if you have a contact than eBay itself - that's how I got my recent V3 2000 PCI and 3D Prophet 4500.

Even 2x Diamond Voodoo 2 12MBs would set me LESS than what they go for on the bay (as a pair).
