Can't believe no one mentioned GameFAQs yet.

I think I started using it during the late 90s for guides and walkthroughs. Not sure if games had a dedicated cheats page at that time, but you could usually find cheat commands in the FAQs themselves.

Hmmyeah, did that start as just one long page list of cheats on tripod or angelfire or somewhere before it got it's own dedicated page?

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

i loved game FAQs, back before youtube this is how walkthroughs were done, that and the occasional website with a screenshot supported walkthrough. some of the information is really in depth in gamefaqs, so much effort made by authors back then
