Hey everyone
So I was fortunate to fall upon a mint condition HP omnibook 425 with working PCMCIA 40mb hard drive. The original battery cell is flat as a pancake and I'm giving some thoughts to replacing the cells with some new tagged AA 2600mah batteries.
I was wondering if there were any fellow 425 owners here and if so, have any of you successfully booted the laptop from a compact flash card? the spinning rust sucked the life out of a pair of new duracells in no time what so ever. And my research leads me to think the battery life would be significantly better if i wasn't using a mechanical drive.
Many thanks
There's an old android saying which I believe is peculiarly appropriate here. In binary language it goes something like this: 001100111011000111100, which roughly translated means: "Don't stand around jabbering when you're in mortal danger!"
