Thanks for the info.

You also need the VORTMIX.exe file to set the levels.

I haven't burned that iso yet, and am unable to otherwise extract what it contains, but... that vortmix thingie should be there, right ?
I found another file(unable to retrace location atm), Win9x2048_NoDemos.zip, in which is the au30dos.com(same version as yours), but no vortmix...

Use PowerISO to extract the CD image without burning it. It's the same program I used to create the ISO file.

Thanks for the tip!

Though, still no vortmix.exe found... so, just me beeing stupid or is that file created only when actually installing the driver(in windows) ?

Vortmix.exe is AFAIK not an official program from Aureal or Diamond, just made by a hobbyist. It is now attached to this post.

Here is information on the differrent driver revisions for the aureal vortex 2, as well as other information on this card:

Big thanks for this iso!

The version of AU30DOS.com I have comes up version 2.007. If anyone has one later, let us know.

It seems to be the last one (it's included with the 4.06.2048 drivers)

I tested today the MX300 with generic Aureal drivers. The last drivers from Diamond are based on 4.06.2017. I tested 4.06.2030 and the latest 4.06.2048 (there are also 2050, but these are for the unreleased SQ3500 card), but none of them resolve the issue of X-Wing locking Windows when trying to use the daughterboard. (still all of them work perfect, when I boot into MS-DOS mode).

Which Vortex2 cards had a WaveBlaster header?

Or maybe someone could upload iso images of the MX300 driver CD, because I only own the card and can't find all these demos and stuff anywhere?

If you want only the driver, then look for 'rel102.exe':
http://www.google.pl/search?q=102rel.exe
If the downloaded setup says its corrupt, try a different mirror - at least on one site the file was not working. (the one I am using has MD5: 923838155EABB9B3118340E9220756F6).
Or try to find it on FTP:
http://www.filewatcher.com/m/102rel.exe.15134181.0.0.html

If you want the latest generic Vortex 2 driver then go:
http://www.filewatcher.com/m/Win9x2048.zip.38640782.0.0.html
or the version without demos (10.78 MB instead of 36.85 MB):
http://www.filewatcher.com/m/Win9x2048_NoDemo … 300477.0.0.html
