It is I, the one who's helping their fiance build 486 PCs. Latest project: 486 DX-4 100Mhz This one with VLB slots

For our last build we acquired (and then did not end up using) a SIIG I/O ISA card (SC-JEE012). Our board this time did not have any IDE connectors, so we decided to use the SIIG card (after SIIG graciously provided us a copy of the manual!) for that. Everything works fine with the SIIG card and a VLB GPU. We are using an 8GB Disk On Module for the storage drive, since we had so much luck with the DOM for the last build.

However when we try to add an Ethernet card, the board no longer detects the DOM. Remove the Ethernet card, it works fine. The Ethernet card in question is the Kingston KNE2021LC.

Does anyone have any tips/tricks/solutions. We have other Ethernet cards we can try, but we got this Kingston specifically for this PC.

Sounds like a resource conflict. How are resources allocated with that NIC? I don't see any jumpers... It might be PnP 🙁

Which IRQs have you selected on the IO card for the IDE interface? And have you reserved them as non-PnP in BIOS?
