Hey everyone
I am trying to install Windows 2000 Professional on my IBM Thinkpad R31. My goal is to have 98, ME, 2000 and XP on there. Except for 2000
everything installed without issues., but
now I am stuck on the 2000 install though. I am installing from CD to an 128GB M.2 Sata SSD which is connected via a SATA to IDE Adapter.
So far I tried an ISO image including SP4 and another ISO with the release versions and no SP.
There is only one Partition on the SSD when installing which is 40 GB big and freshly formatted as NTFS.
The text part of the setup goes well, but when the first reboot happens and the setup gets to the point where it wants to install drivers from the CD, it fills the progress bar approx. 3/4 and the screen starts to flicker and after 2 seconds the laptop reboots. This goes on until I kill the power.
I also tried installing in APM mode by hitting F5 in the beginning of the setup and selecting standard PC.
I really could use a hint on how to continue and would be happy to provide more information if necessary.
Thanks again in advance for any tips!
