Hello guys,
I came accross well preserved Toshiba T5100 and after I purchased it, unpacked and it was functioning normally and booted up few times, however today not possible to boot anymore and after memory test and some time hanging, it shows me HDD initialization error. I disassembled it in belief to find conner 40MB HDD, however I found Quantum ProDrive LPS 52AT (52MB)... so it means that someone has already replaced conner harddrive and now it has died...
I know about XT-IDE being discussed here frequently, but in conjuction to some other toshibas like t3200/t5200 these have ISA slots, however T5100 does not.... Also I see that guy from belgium who makes XTIDE card for proprietary toshiba expansion port which t5100 is equipped with, however he does not seem to sell anything currently or anymore.... If anyone who has t5100 knows some confirmed working and hassle free solution and could share.... I would also maybe rather stick up with authenticity and install traditional HDD there... but machine bios only allows 3 or 4 conner disks. Is it possible to use any other small hdd like 200,300,500mb or whatever.... even if only 100mb would be available for use?
I see on us ebay someone sells NOS conner disks CP30104 or CP30104H (not sure what is the difference) so maybe that would be a good chance to sort this out....?
Thx to all for replies.
