Just to be sure I am not seeing the wrong thing the cockpit shake you refer to is "the high frequency shake in cockpit view when you drive very fast"

no, it happens when you turn the corners, the image starts to jump like when you go fast and get offroad in grass, etc

You are correct. I was just looking at fast speed, and didn't notice that shake while turning. Let me try turning in Windows 98. Who knows, it might just have been an original game bug that nobody noticed, let ne see...

Wait I don't understand. You couldn't figure out why your game was shaking in cockpit view, then you found out a different version exists where it doesn't shake but you didn't know why. But you also couldn't find what was different, so I found it for you, its the config.dat, modified by Verok.

Regarding the resolution, you can try using some bilinear filters of DxWnd + upscaled resolution.

The excessive shaking also happens to the car itself when in outside view. So it's the car that is shaking, it's just more noticeable when we are in it.

Hmm that's what I meant. People maybe didn't like it so it was fixed "by a mod"

I've tried everything i could... the slowest PC i have is a Pentium 4. I tried all vm types (86box, win95 under dosbox, virtualbox, qemu with gpu passthru - i got a Radeon x300 only for this!). and still no luck... cockpit shaking stills there.

I wanted to try it in a real slow hardware (P166 maybe) and see if the game is really like that or is being affected by faster hardware we use nowadays.

EDIT: Now watching your Lamborghini's onboard video carefully i notice you don´t get the shakiness i mentioned. How did you get that running on software mode? your guide mention that it's for 3dfx mode only....
