Erm... I would have to firmly disagree with your evaluation.

Long time lurker here, I've finally created an account so for my first post I'll just drop my (rather simple) AMD K6-2 wallpaper, made to match my 2nd retro rig.
These are not vintage as these are completely new and assisted by AI, but they feature vintage computer cases or are derived from vintage data. They are all attempts at anthropomorphising particular systems.
As a PowerMac is replacing my (lost) G3 iMac, I've crossed the vintage Apple G4 "Mystic" hardware with the vintage Toybox G3 "Blue Bondi Babe" desktop (previous page) to generate a new character in the style of the era. That does look fitting.
I also have made efforts to represent my P5/MMX in AT form factor - a PC that survived by being reconfigured time and again to use dedicated physical hardware because it lacks CPU power for software abstraction (but its currently not passing POST). Exhaustive reconfiguring and experimentation matches my experience so will not give up today. Plus my "Aikido Sensei" K6-2 that evolved out of my P5/MMX into an actually competitive gaming machine with very specific configurations for very specific situations.
It appears Vogons auto-compresses uploaded images so these are all sketches/drafts/previews.
Desktop timeline [ MOS 7501 → 68030 → x86(P5/MMX) → x86(K6-2) → x86(K7*) → PPC(G3*) → x86-64(K8) → x86-64(Xeon) → x86-64(i5) → x86-64(i7) ] * lost
Here's a bunch of old wallpaper images I used to use! Let me know if you would like any of them and I will post them! These are from 2003 to 2012
Please upload all of them in a package. thx!

I was able to put them all into a rar archive. File size is 25.3MB. Is there a way to upload that here or should I put it onto the Internet Archive and put a link on here? Thanks!
Here is the link to the Internet Archive I created for it... https://archive.org/details/computer-stuff-wallpapers

Love the era when GPUs had all the mascots and just cool CG renders characters and stuff, appreciate the post.
I couldn't find a nice (to my taste) old logo 3dfx wallpaper... So I made this one.
