I got this weird 486dx2 with Octek DCA 1? motherboard.
It won't post, beeps and has some blue square on the screen.
I removed the old battery, tried 2 different ISA vga cards, and re-inserted ram.
Do you think battery traces are bad?

Can anyone see the video? why it beeps?

Hi,

The picture of the motherboard shows too small part of it to do a positive ID of what exact revision of this motherboard this is.

Is this this one?:
https://theretroweb.com/motherboards/s/octek- … -1-486-rev.-1.0

If not please post a picture of the board to have a positive ID.

If it is that motherboard then it got an AMI bios, weirdly it seems as it would signal two different beep codes:
The first: 1 long beeps, 3 short beeps at first which usually means "Memory Failure" with AMI BIOS
The second: Starts with 2 long beeps, I cannot find an AMI BIOS beep code that starts with 2 long beeps, so weird...

Are the traces look fine?

That motherboard also has an AMI BIOS so it should have the same/similar beep codes.

Two of the three wide traces look to be damaged to me, the top one still have some possibility to function, but the middle one seems to be mostly gone.

EDIT:
Sorry I have only saw the second picture with the traces not the first one with Mr Bios unfortunately I don't have a reference for that BIOS on hand but an internet search returned:
1 Long and 3 Short beeps mean Keyboard error
The second one I have no idea.

Hmmm... lets look at your photos on FB.
Yes the traces are dead and motherboard is dirty as hell.
Begin with cleaning of all board and traces recovery)))

There are definitely 2 severed traces and possibly one through-hole via. You need to wash the board properly and let it dry.

need to clean, then scrape all the discolored solder bask to bare copper or rather lack of copper in damaged spots, then patch it up
