Good morning,
I managed to buy an ESS 1868F to puth in a system with a Soyo 6VBA133 motherboard with both pci and isa slot, however the card is not detected by windows. I put IRQ5 on legacy isa in the bios, disabled the onboard usb that was taking up irq5 and now windows shows IRQ5 as free and no sign of card detection. PnP OS is disabled in the bios. I tried everything, including changing the isa slot but to no avail. Anyone had a similar problem? What can I do to get the card to work?

Can you post a picture of the card?

Clean the contacts of the ISA connector. They look pretty crusty...

I would say your issues are causbed by the poor condition of the contacts- The dust usually isn't a problem but can be. The thing you need to do most is to clean up the ISA edge connector contacts. In that sort of condition I would use contact cleaner (aka deoxit) and melamine sponge (aka magic eraser)
