Hello,
I acquired an old ASUS P8Z77-V Premium motherboard a while back and had to replace a capacitor. Once I did, it booted fine and I was able to test it out pretty thoroughly. I then put it into storage.
Last weekend, I replaced another capacitor that worked, but had physical damage. I then gave the motherboard a soap and water bath, and allowed it to dry thoroughly.
Before testing it again, I noticed a bent pin, and I have re-set it to the best of my ability. It does look to my untrained eye to be properly aligned.
Now I am receiving error code 15 and not able to get into the BIOS.
I have tried:
1. Clear CMOS
2. Reseating CPU/trying new CPU
3. Reseating RAM/trying different sticks in all slots
My only explanations are:
1. Somehow the bent pin is still not making proper contact
2. I fried something when replacing the second capacitor
3. I fried something when giving the mobo a bath.
I have highlighted the pin in red (stock photo of socket)
Here are the capacitors I replaced (stock photo of mobo)
After replacing #1, the mobo worked
After replacing #2, washing the board, and dealing with a bent pin, the mobo gave me code 15.
Any ideas on next steps I can take? Thanks for your help!
