ROM bios header pointer PLL pointer PLL table Crystal freq offset (value)
53008 0048h -> 10Ah(+30) ---> 13Ah 984h(+E) ---------> 992h (0B30)
57403 0048h -> 110h(+30) ---> 140h 930h(+E) ---------> 93Eh (0B86)
51804 0048h -> 108h(+30) ---> 138h 902h(+E) ---------> 910h (0B86)
51805 0048h -> 10Ah(+30) ---> 13Ah 988h(+E) ---------> 996h (0B86)
52910 0048h -> 112h(+30) ---> 142h 9A8h(+E) ---------> 9B6h (0B86)

are you sure this was a MAC board because the ROM you posted is a PC ROM!

these are all the roms of rage 128 i could find 3 of them are for AGP and 2 for PCI

RAGE128 GL 1999-02-03 PN 113-51804-1 01 AGP BK1-0-11-VR001-001-001-011 (32KB) 29.5MHz
RAGE128 GL 1999-03-19 PN 113-51805-1 01 AGP BK1-0-11-VR001-001-001-011 (64KB) 16MB 29.5MHz Xpert128 (TVout)
RAGE128 GL 1999-04-07 PN 113-52910-2 01 AGP BK1-0-14-VR001-001-001-014 (64KB) 32MB 29.5MHz AIW (tv tuner)

RAGE128 GL 1999-06-21 PN 113-57403-1 02 PCI BK1-0-13-VR001-001-001-013 (36KB) 32MB 29.5MHz
RAGE128 GL 1999-04-07 PN 113-53008-1 00 PCI BK1-0-12-VR001-001-001-012 (64KB) 16MB 28.6MHz AIW (tv tuner)

any way the rom you posted is 57403 this rom does not show any post screen if used with MAC board
the only one that works but has the clock issue is 53008 and it belongs to All-in-wonder card (so you get all the unwanted
tv stuff devices when using its ROM), by modding the the dot clock frequency it must be good to go.

which ATI rage 128 do you have, can you post a picture of the board and the flashing process
did the flash process went without any issues!

Here are the photos. This was not the original bios. I tried an earlier uploaded bios but that only worked in Windows (when setting the Hz correctly). See earlier posts. Can't find the original bios atm but it was a MAC bios.

Tried it today but unfortunately there is no output at all. Flash was successful with ATI flash 1.6 (with -f option).

ok now the question is
which rom, allowed you to post but had the out of synch issue ?
the one you flashed before the moded roms, did it allow you to post or no ?
if the ROM you uploaded the "57403" showed you a post
here is a moded version of it
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1sn2PwaNFqJn5 … iew?usp=sharing
give it a try

This version works great so far. Can see the boot screen, tried a couple of DOS games and Windows 98SE also works perfectly (3DMark 99).

Thanks!

Excellent 2 cards working up until now mine and yours 😁
this is mysterious, i need to uncover what's in the ROMs that prevent them from posting on one version of the card and not another
anyway enjoy.

Hello Everyone,

Nice work! Lucky I found you! 😁
I am also thinking of something similar.

I have two cards, same chips and designed approximately at the same time if we consider the PCB PartNumber.

ATi Rage 128 Pro - AGP - 16 MB SDR (PN 109-63000-00) for Mac
Memory config: 8 x MT48LC1M16A1-7SE on 128 bit.

ATi Rage 128 Pro - AGP - 16 MB SGR (PN 109-63100-10) for PC
Memory config: 4 x Samsung K4G323222M-PC70, not tested yet. Not sure if 64 or 128bit memory.
I think it's 64bit, because on the backside there are traces for 4 additional memory chips for a total of 32MB.

I am not that skilled to edit the BIOS file, however I can get the files and I can use tools to flash new BIOSes.
Would you help me make the ATi Rage 128 Pro - 16 MB SDR for Mac boot on a PC? 😀

Both use 29,4 crystals.
