Greetings!

So I found this for sale
https://www.serdashop.com/CVX4
It is listed as a "CVX4 Vogons Tuning Edition"and "CVX4 High Quality COVOX LPT soundcard "
It is for Retro PCing and it states Vogons in the title, so there is a good chance it is sold by this site! I have contacted them asking some question about plug and play or drivers for DOS needed and they did not reply! Anyway I would like something like this so any ideas please?

Can you give a summary of what you want the end result to be? Are you specifically looking for a COVOX compatible device (for which there are no DOS drivers, each game/application should support it) or are you looking for a general sound blaster compatible device that will work with most games?

the CVX4 is basically a "Covox Speech Thing" clone , any game that supports the speech thing will also work with the CVX4
here is a list of games with direct support: https://www.mobygames.com/attributes/attribute/43/

if you search on youtube for "Covox Speech Thing" you will get a bunch of videos with history and playback demos
basically you will get sound fx in games with it - can't compare to a soundblaster for example but in some cases a LPT is all you have to work with and it's better than nothing
