ATI Radeon X550XT and Win98

Hello, everyone.

I’m thinking of buying my first retro PC and I’m browsing my options. One such option comes with the ATi Radeon X550XT graphics card, and runs WinXP.

I plan on using Win98SE as well, but the only drivers I can find online have Bera support for the X-series cards. Has anyone run these cards in Win98? How’s the Beta support?

ATi Catalyst 6.2 Win9x driver doesn't support Ati X550XT in straight way...

XT version based on RV410 chip, and Windows XP driver detects it like X700 SE.
So, you need todo next steps to get it work:
1. Download and launch `6-2_wme_dd_cp_30314.exe` to unpack
2. Go to `C:\Ati\Support\6-2_wme_dd_cp_30314\Driver\9X_INF`
3. Find `C8_30314.INF`
4. Add next lines with RADEON X700 SE into Mfg section:

[Mfg]
"MEDION RADEON X740XL" = RV410_ENU, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5E4B&SUBSYS_17801462
...
"PowerColor RADEON X700 SE" = RV410_ENU, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5E4F&SUBSYS_2148148C
"PowerColor RADEON X700 SE Secondary" = RV410_ENU, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5E6F&SUBSYS_2149148C
...
"RADEON X700 SE" = RV410_ENU, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5E4F
"RADEON X700 SE Secondary" = RV410_ENU, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5E6F

[RV410_ENU]
...

Basic ID's VEN_1002&DEV_5E4F and SUBSYS_2148148C are taken from GPU-Z.
For Secondary interface, you take DEV 5E4F and add 20 -> DEV 5E6F
