Okay. Okay okay. *sigh* Okay. You don't need to patch it in Windows XP! heh, I thought that we made that abundently clear... fixPOPF didn't fix the problem and apparently neither is patching it, so I think that his OS is hosed but in any case you shouldn't NEED to patch it in XP, only in 2000. (And NT, but nobody uses that. 😀)

Yes, it’s my fault.

I can run DN3D perfectly with sound (but I have to have it in 320x240). I didn't patch anything to it. I just set up VDMSound, and then set up the corrisponding setting in SETUP.EXE.

If the computer locks up on the nuke screen (like mine once did), it might be because you set the sound IRQ (in setup.exe) to an incorrect/conflicting IRQ.

When you tested the sound and music cards in setup.exe, did they work okay? Or did you just ignore the test option and go forward as if it would work anyhow?

You can use the sound test if you want, but it'll sound slow and choppy. (It's not like that in the actual game, however.)

(By the way, I really hope you get it working! It's a great game! 😀 )

Choose the sound setup option.
Select soundblaster.
On the next screen, you will see your sound settings.
Address 220
Interrupt (or IRQ) 5
8 bit dma 1
16 bit dma 5

Unregistered has no idea what they're talking about.
VDMSound runs on IRQ7.
