Only support things that have a real benefit for the user. In Germany we call it "erst die Pflicht und dann die Kür" 😉

For the GMA950 support I first thought about the first Mac mini 2006 with core-solo, but even the very early bootcamp only supported winXP (perhaps win2k?, but no Win9x) afaik. But I have SNI ScoveryXS D1215 with i815e and the additional 4MB VRAM AGP card, this thing would be interesting as it has a very fast Tualatin 1400. Hopefully the guys will fix the amithlon-kernel for the lack of VESA-support on the very early intel-chipsets. If over time both things were fixed it would be a hell of a small and fast retro-machine with a wide support of software.

Think this is accurate?

If yes, you're doing every Core i generation 😮
I built:
Convert old ASUS ASC boardviews to KICAD PCB!

Yeah anything I can get my hands on hardware wise I will try and create a driver.

Ow, ow, ow, okay enough twisting my arm, my most recent ATX tower gets the 4770k build not the AMD FX. 🤣
Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

I am a fan of the FX. I've got a FX 6300 with PCI slot, so I've built a linux probe to pull some ROMs, register testing etc. I will add AMD stuff in future.

I've attached a V9XSURV file for an old STB nVidia Riva 128 ZX (8MB) AGP card that include the rom, if you're so inclined to add support for it.
Here are some others as well.
STB Riva 128 4MB AGP
S3 Trio64v+ PCI
Rage128 Ultra AGP
ATI Rage Pro Turbo PCI
Asus AGP-V3000 (Riva128 4MB AGP)
And one more: a Matrox MGA Mystique PCI
Most of those already have drivers for 9x?

Oh, this is cool. Does it include a fix for the forced widescreen? It would be very nice to have a proper 4:3 image on modern screens.
Btw: the Savage 4 has very bad scaling for notebooks. The best solution for that would be to have good 512x384 support and they missed the opportunity for (3*320x3*200). This card would be a good candidate for better drivers, too. 😁
dr.zeissler wrote on 2026-10-17, 07:40:While the driver development is continuously expanding it would be very helpful to have a matrix what is offered for which chip-family. First I thought that this driver offers 3dfx support/ati-cif support on matrox-millenium, but the readme shows that this depends on the chip the driver is installed, even if the driver-package for matrox installs the glide/cif files.
You can test version 0.20, OpenGL is tested to work now, I haven't tested Glide/CIF yet.
Version 0.20 includes: 32bit colour Direct3D support for some chips (Matrox Mill 2, GMA950 and HD 4600), OpenGL/Glide for Matrox 2 and Matrox Mystique support (Mystique matches Mill 2 3D hardware almost exactly the same as the Mill 2 which surprised me, only missing 32bit 3D).

Hi All,
I have updated my V9x Remote Agent, now you can lend me your hardware for testing. I can build drivers by accessing your Windows 98 machine directly.
You need Internet on the 98 box, install my agent, and enable the optional remote control feature.
https://github.com/michaeldale/V9x-Remote-Age … -remote-support
This is good for anything I don't have hardware for, not existing stuff like GMA900/950, HD 4600 etc.
Also I will probably need the box on for 48 hrs.

Hello! ... I see that support for Intel Haswell is nearly perfect; in light of this, I’d like to know if it would work with an i3-4160 (HD 4400), which is also part of the Haswell line?

Hahah it is far from perfect but should work okay for older games, I am working on 0.21 release that improves performance and fixes various bugs.
HD 4400 does not work as I don't have the hardware, but it should be same Gen so it should be easy fix.
You can help with 1 of 2 options.
