Matrox Millennium 1, 2mb on board, Windows 98.

RAM expansion pins look a bit bent.

No problems at all in DOS. Also tried the Windows directx 3 game "Hexen 2". No problems either.

But my windows 98 desktop has corrupted graphics - lots of lines (banding?) on the screen. I can use windows fine, it just looks a mess. Something appears to be broken, but doesn't seem to affect DOS at all, and also Hexen 2, which I found interesting.

Graphics driver was taken from Windows 98 disc - this should be fine. I tried Matrox Power Desk software to disable every acceleration feature, but this didn't help.

Strange. 😖

Same mainboard where the S3 failed? 😉

Yes...Are you trying to tell me something? 😉 🤣

But seriously, I tried two more Matrox Millennium 1s in the same mobo, albeit slightly different revision cards (plus they both had a bit more onboard RAM), and they were both fine - both in Windows and also in DOS.

I think I'm going to 'test pass' this graphics card as "Specially optimised for DOS, only" 😉
