I've had no problem getting the first two Eye of the Beholder games running under DOSBox 0.72, but Eye of the Beholder 3 won't run. It aborts with the error message "AESOP inheritance limit exceeded." A Google search turns up only one message about this error. It was posted on this site in 2003 and nobody found a solution. This suggests that the error is not only rare but that it isn't being triggered by any of the newer features of my system, like Vista. Here are my system specs:

HP Pavillion m8100n
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5600+ 2.80 Ghz
3gb RAM
Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 32bits
DOSBox 0.72

I've tried moving the EOB3 directory to several locations and currently have it in the root directory of the C: drive. I get the error whether I mount C to the root directory or the EOB3 directory.

Any suggestions?
