Hello,

I installed Mechwarrior 2 using DosBox 0.72 with a CD image. The game works fine, except for the fact that the music doesn't play in missions (all other sounds work fine).

I used an image because DosBox couldn't find (after executing mech2.exe) the CD after mounting through:

mount d g:\ -t cdrom OR
mount d g:\ -t cdrom -ioctl -label MECH2

I am just speculating that it is because I am not using the CD. Moreover, After mounting the CD and typing d:/dir all the files are recognized.

Does anyone have a solution? Is it even the fact that it isn't using the CD?

It needs to be a cue/bin image. ISO's don't contain CD Audio, just DATA.

I actually did have a cue/bin image made, but in the autoexec I had:

imgmount k c:\mw2.bin -t iso

as opposed to:

imgmount k c:\mw2.cue -t iso

Yep, not music when mounting the BIN itself. The application mounting the image can "see" it's a RAW image, but it has no way of determining whether CDDA data is present, or not. That's what the CUE sheet is for. I'd also use the drive letter next to your last hd drive letter(hd: c:\, cd: d:\, for example), some installers don't like "empty" drive letters.
