I'm playing Monkey Island 2 with the actual CD. I was previously playing it using VDMSound when I was using Windows XP, but when I switched to Windows Vista that didn't cut it, so I had to start using DOSBOX.

I have it up and running fine and the sound is working. However, none of the games that I had previously saved are there anymore so I can't load an old game. So now I have to start playing it all over again; however, now it will not let me save my progress at all. When I type in the name to save my progress as and click "Ok", it says "The game was NOT saved (disc full?)"

I have never had this problem before? Does anyone have any suggestions of how to fix it?

How did you mount the drives? Sounds like you're trying to save on the cd.

I typed the following in this exact order:

mount d E:\ -t cdrom

d:

CD monkey2

monkey2.exe

You need to install the game, or copy it onto your harddisk if that works
(remember to remove the readonly attribute from the files).

If you gonna play Monkey Island 2, I recommend you use ScummVM instead of DOSBox.

If it's Vista then it's probably a permissions issue, so:

1. Run DOSBox as an administrator (not recommended).
OR
2. Copy DOSBox folder and game to profile
OR
3. Modify permissions on game/DOSBox folder.

By default you cannot write to any directory on Vista unless it's your profile. (Unless you run the program as administrator or modify the permissions).
