How do I make this game install properly and run with dosbox? I've searched other threads that mention this game and nothing I've found has helped me.
I install it fine and make valid selections for the computer settings, but the the game just will not run. It says "couldn't install video driver"

Post the contents of the RESOURCE.CFG file from the game directory. Mine looks like this:

videoDrv=EGA320.DRV
soundDrv=MT32.DRV
kbdDrv=IBMKBD.DRV
mouseDrv= YES

Also, ensure that you're actually trying to run it from the directory that has this file in it and that the drivers listed actually exist (EGA320.DRV being the likely culprit if it's talking about a video driver). Of course, if this isn't an original copy, all bets are off.

My resource.cfg file was blank. I copied and pasted the contents of yours, and now the game works. Thanks. I noticed the sound was off, though. When I have gold coins put in the purse, it makes a loud slamming noise

Yeah, I use an actual MT-32. Sounds awesome 😀
The RESOURCE.CFG should be written by the INSTALL program that comes with the game (when it asks you to which drive to install, just press Escape and it'll simply update the existing configuration).

Conquests of Camelot is one of the games that you really want an MT-32 for.
