I'm using DOSBox (via D-Fend Reloaded), and have just finished Wizardry I, but Wizardry II doesn't allow for new character creation. You're supposed to use a utility to swap disks and move the characters to the new scenario that way. But neither DOSBox nor D-Fend Reloaded seem to support disk swapping.

I tried copying to flash-drives w/ the same drive letters and swapping those, but Wizardry I doesn't seem to acknowledge the swap that way.

Has anyone figured this out?

(And for the record, I own both of these game on 5 1/4" floppies from when they first came out. I no longer have the Apple II+ I used to play them on, and have no desire to buy Wizardry Gold at over $100 a copy.)

You mean The Ultimate Wizardry Archives? Wizardry Gold does not contain the older games as far as I am aware, it is just a Windows enhanced version of Crusaders of the Dark Savant.

If you have these games for the Apple II, why didn't you use a good II emulator like AppleWin? That has very good support for disk swapping.

The Ultimate Wizardry Archives should have instructions to transfer characters.

The best way I have found to transfer floppy disks in DOSBox is to use the VM Back program, located at :

Run Applewin and get the Wizardry images. You'll love it.
