I am wanting to install Lost in time, and when I launch the install, I get the message:
---------------------------------------------------
Not enough Extended Memory.
Some visual or sound effects may not occur.

RAM:-2128 KO/500 KO
----------------------------------------------------
I am not sure what I should try.
I have 63408K free Extended and expanded memory.

For bug reports (assuming you're using the official 0.72 release) please use
a clean dosbox.conf, if you really have to modify something post that entry.

I am using the official release DOSBox 0.72.

I looked at the readme file and couldn't find anything for increasing XMS or EMS. Is there a way to increase it? I couldn't find anything in the forums either.

I put in a completely clean config, and same thing happens. Maybe installing the game uses alot of mem... The install menu is very diffrent and looks like ingame menu using mouse support and everything. Just a guess, I don't know if really does effects anything.
Is there a way to set the XMS or EMS amount manually instead of the default amount? I don't see it in the readme or in threads here on vogons.
By the way WD, thanks for your continual help, I notice you tend to help in alot of my other posts 😁

What's the exact error message now?
What does "MEM" output?

Error message directly from the screen:

-------------------------------------------------
Not enough Extended Memory.
Some visual or sound effects may not occur.

RAM:-2128 KO/500 KO
--------------------------------------------------

"Mem" output? You mean what DOSBox says when I type "mem"?
63408 KB for both EMS and XMS

Sorry if thats not what you meant for mem output 😅

then please use a clean dosbox.conf!
*topic closed as the user is stubborn refusing our advice. Qbix wonders why he and the other devs go to such lengths to make the default configuration the most compatible one.*
