Motherboard: HP Pavillion dv9500 Notebook PC, x-64 based, BIOS F.31, System ID 30D1, Version 85.26

Processor: AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-64, Dual-Core @ 2.2 GHz

RAM: 2 GB (2 x 1 GB DIMMs)

Video: NVidia GeForce 7150M / nForce 630M, 64 MB VRAM (also shares System Memory)

Sound: Conexant High Definition SmartAudio HD2

OS: Vista Ultimate SP1 (64-bit)

Game: Star Trek: Pinball (1.00)

Problem: Game crashes with DOS/4GW General Protection Fault (see attached image)

Reproducibilty: Almost always; usually occurs after opening movie, occasionally before opening movie; have only gotten to gameplay once

Sound mode used: SB16

Video mode: Surface; Screen is 1440x900, game is 800x600, DOSBox set to aspect=true

Emulator: DOSBox 0.72

Steps taken: raised and lowered memory inside DOSBox; used different drive letters for mounting CD-ROM; set DOSBox to report DOS version as 6.22 (version required by game); yes, read the README file 😀

Try different kinds of memory (XMS=true/false, EMS=true/false), different cores (normal, dynamic), loadfix, and finally DOS32A instead of DOS4GW.

Thank you for the help. Fixed cycles ended up being the key.
