I'm trying to get Quest for Glory 1 VGA to run on DosBox. It's fine, but it goes very slowly. Are there certain settings to make it run more smoothly? By the way, this is the anthology from the CD. I couldn't get it to work with VDMS, because I kept getting an error like...

"sierra ntvdm cpu has encountered an illegal instruction xp" or something, which I don't know how to fix or what the heck it means. Oh well...

With that, do I need to install any of the little patches? Such as the timer fixes and such.

Well... I'm still having a problem with QfG1 VGA. Certain sounds keep repeating over and over (the bird outside the healer's hut, Zara's appearance sound, the guildmaster's snoring, the snow giant's axe swinging...). How do I fix this?

All applicable patches are included. Do not apply any others, especially do not use the updated SB driver, which causes the looping. Use the original AUDBLAST.DRV, as the default settings for cycles are enough to avoid the initialization error.
