I join this forum to ask how to get daggerfall to run in dosbox on winxp. I know there r tons of post about this but i couldn't find one with the same problem. When I try and run by (mount c c:\ , c: , cd\dagger , dagger).
It tells me that the CD is needed to run. But I have it setup to run without the cd in xp, even when i put the cd in it still tells me i have no cd.

I installed it with the install for 2000/xp/vista and the patches. I tried installing through dosbox but right before it started installing in c:\dagger it tells me i don't have enough hdd space but i have over a 100 gbs i mounted my hdd before install.

I only joined this furom to ask this questions so please HELP 😵

fandb - please try the instructions here:
60 seconds guide to getting your game to run in DOSBox

For the free space issue, try adding

-freesize 300

to the mount C command.

THX I installed through dosbox after using -freesize. But now when I try and run it tells me wrong cd instead of no cd. Maybe my disk has seen to many CRAZY MAD KITTIES to work right.

Hmmm. Are you using Windows? If you look at the CD using the My Computer window, do the CD show with a name. E.g. DAGGER or DGFALL or something?

I had this problem.... here is the solution for me.

mount c c:\games -freesize 2000
mount d c:\games\dagger\dfcd -t cdrom -label DAGGERFALL
c:
cd dagger
FALL.EXE Z.CFG

This creates a 2GB freespace on c: to allow for full install.
The mounting required the disk label to be inclueded.
You need to run FALL.EXE Z.CFG to get the proper start up.

Fairly simple once you get all the pieces together. Hope it help... and it doesn't matter how old the thread is. I needed the help, and with the DOS games boom, I am sure others will too.

Cheers!
