I'm sure this is old news to many but new news to some, total hardware 99(th99)is a database and can be downloaded onto a local machine as well,it is pretty much the webs biggest collection of white papers on old hardware,if it's a computer or computer related and it's old it's probably covered, this document has saved me many hours/days of frustration and fiddling with jumper settings and many other adjustments.

http://artofhacking.com/th99/ is the 'graphics' version of that stuff. It seems a bit more extensive too btw.
