Hiya!

Like many people here, I been struggling to get the free version Daggerfall to work. I know you guys are sick of us totally clueless newbies but you all are pretty much my last hope for getting this to game to work.

When using the DFend Reloaded front to patch my game it asks me for a CD, which I do not have obviously. Does anyone have a clue on how I can remedy this while using the front? I’m pretty much stuck and how no idea what to do next.

Thank you SO much for reading and lending me a hand. I really appreciate it!

i never used DFend, but the trick is to set the label of the directory you mount as D to Daggerfall

It might be easier to
just follow the instructions provided by bethsoft and forget about a frontend

Yeah, best to just follow the directions that come with the free Daggerfall download.

If you're insistent on getting it to work with DFend though, you should approach it from the perspective of making sure D-Fend is covering all of the steps in the Daggerfall installation directions (especially mounding the CD image, and doing it with the exact correct label).

Frontends are great for running games, but lousy when installing.

I'll stop using the DFend for now and stick with plain ol' DOSBox for now until I get this thing up and running. Also, thank you to everyone who replied! You don't know how happy this makes me getting actual help from people rather than being left in the cold.
