If you hit the enemy while he is far away from you, you hit him only with the tip of your sword, he falls down the building to the street and he screams while flying. If the enemy gets closer to you, you hit him with the whole sword, he dies on top of the roof and he doesn't scream.

Have you tried running the game's sound configuration utility to make sure it's using settings that correspond to your DOSBox sound emulation settings?

I fixed it, just got a dl'd a different version...thou when I start this new version before I hit the .exe it gives me werid white letters on the screen then I hit enter and the game starts. I got to a point, but the game crashes. Any ideas?

Since you are using an illegal copy I suggest you take your questions to the place you obtained it. Experience tells me, that your problem is not caused by a problem with DOSBox, but with how the copy was made.

The question you need to ask yourself now is this:

Is my time spent in getting this illegal copy to work in DOSBox worth more to me, than the costs of buying a legally licensed copy of the game on eBay, Amazon or some other reputable site?
