I'm on a first generation MacBook running OS10.4.11 (2Ghz Intel, 2gig RAM) and DOSBox v0.73.

When I attempt to run the DOS version of Lords of the Realm II in DOSBox (the Mac OS cd that came in the collection was scratched beyond repair in a recent move) I get the message "this program cannot be run in DOS mode", which seems bizarre to me.

I cannot find an "install" or a "setup" file amongst the files on the CD, so I am attempting to run "lords2.exe" when I get this message.

Any idea what's going on?

That's because your version seems to be a windows one.

He stated he wasn't able to find any "install".

That's is what I get for reading through the forum when I'm in a hurry, but the answer is still the same. He needs to look in the base of the CD for INSTALL.BAT, not INSTALL.EXE. He is looking in the FILES directory where LORDS2.EXE is.
