I've tried loadfix -1, -8, -32, and -64 and 65. NOTHING fixes this problem it seems. On the CIC Wing Commander website it has tech support for the WC games and dosbox and i've followed them to the letter. they tell me:

"The game may consistently freeze at certain points in the game. This can be avoided by starting the game by typing loadfix -32 wc2 Alternate values such as -1, -64, -65 or no number at all can be substituted for -32 with varying results. "

But i get the same results of it crashing at the end of the 5th mission. teh hell?

EDIT: Followup Question. Would running the game off the cd image be of any reason for it to play as such? I nevr actually installed the game and I just discovered that I can copy the game files from the image onto the HD and play it that way.

Another thing I noticed is that when I tried loadfix while playing the game directly off the cd image, I would type loadfix -32 wc2 but the game wouldnt start up immidiately. I would have to type WC2 again for the game to run. But when I copied the game files to the HD and ran the loadfix the same way, it ran automatically. I may have to start the game over again but i'll give it a shot and see how it goes. I'll just cheat to get up to mission 5.

Install the game correctly, then post full information about how you installed
it and how you're running it. loadfix is supposed to be run as standalone app
before executing the game's executable.

I got it to work. But the thing was that the installation process wouldnt run. It get up to "What drive to you wish to install from" and i wouldnt be able to choose. But I copied the files from the CD and it was fine. I didnt know loadfix wouldnt work with just running it from the CD.
