I have realms of the haunting and got it working with dosbox but everytime I click on something I have to wait for the cdrom to spin up to hear the sound or speech.

Is there a way I can copy the files off the cds into a folder and tell dosbox to use that folder as the cdrom or something so my cdrom isnt constantly spinning up and down when I click stuff?

Thanks.

you need to make a cue+bin of the cd and mount it i guess.

If you do that, you will lose audio tracks if the CD has them. Also, the game might not pass a copy protection check.

Instead, do what lightmaster says, i.e. make a CD image (cue+bin instead of ISO because ISO doesn't store audio tracks). Google how to do that on your operating system of choice.

Ok need some explanation on couple things so I know what to do.

Game is on 3 cds. Do I need to convert them to individual cue/bin or all into one? Once I do that how do I mount them?

Im just new to dosbox as of today and Im not familliar with how this kind of stuff works really, new to cue/bin stuff also.

You convert them individually, thus you get six files (3 cues + 3 bins).

The cuesheet is just a text file regarding data structure.
