Error 1904. Module (...path\DiskWriter.dll) failed to register.
HRESULT -2147221160. Contact your support personnel.

This results with, so far as I can tell, all the .dll files in the VDMsound package. I'm attempting to install 2.0.4 to a clean directory.

I'm running a P3 ~600 on an old Intel 440BX board with 192 mb of RAM. Windows 2000, SP2.

Running dosdrv after the install kicks out with the following message:

"Instantiation - COM Error"
Unable to instantiate emulation module 'VDMServicesProvider"
[memory address] - Invalid class string (D:\path\VDMS.ini:66)

Then another one of these, looks like one each for all the .dlls that didn't get registered at first.

Anybody got any clues?

Just a stab in the dark, but maybe you weren't logged in as someone with administrator access when you installed VDMSound?

Yes, it’s my fault.

I am logged in as an administrator when I attempt to install...

Thanks for the idea, though.
