X-Com mouse problem.

Hey everyone.

I've been DOSBoxing for years, and have really taken to the D-Fend frontend. I'm using the reloaded version right now. I love the intuitiveness, even if I have to make my own tweaks every now and again.

Anyway, X-Com: UFO Defense is giving me a few mouse problems. It's not a sensitivity issue in the sense that I can navigate the menus and such just fine. The problems come when I click to move the globe around, and when I'm in a ground fight with aliens.

Even the slightest click on one of the globe directional buttons sends the globe swirling around insanely. It took me a minute just to center on the area I wanted to set up my first base!

The other problem arises when my troops land at a UFO crash site. When I move my mouse to one of the edges, the screen flies to the end of the map. Obviously, this makes it difficult to do anything of value.

I tried using the search function, but as per usual...I got either way too many results or none at all. I'm sorry if this has already been discussed thoroughly.

Thank you for any assistance.

Oh...I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate edition, if that matters. I doubt they'll matter, but I'll list some other specs just in case.

Geforce GTX 285
8 gigs DDR2 RAM
Q6600

It is not a USB mouse. At least...I don't think it is. It's got one of those adapters with all the pins that plugs into the designated mouse port.

You mean cycles problem. Try "cycles=auto limit 8000" in the conf file. Play with the limit to find a speed you like. Also, the tactical mode has an in-game option for the terrain scroll speed.

That worked! Thanks a lot. Only thing I had to do was up the cycles to 20000 in order to optimize it. Working perfectly now!
