I'm trying to get my verson of MechWarrior2 Mercenaries working, but I am completely new to this emulation thing, what is a CUE image and how do you make one?

Hey guys. This thread implies that bumping is all right, so…
I found an old never‐used MechWarrior 2 Mercenaries CD “3D Enhanced Edition” lying around, so I’ve been trying to get it working. DOSBox v. 0.72 on OpenBSD. Installation went fine with the CD, but trying to run the program afterwards caused the standard “CD-Rom not found” error.
Made a Cue/Bin image:
FILE "MERCENARIES.BIN" BINARYTRACK 01 MODE1/2352INDEX 01 00:00:00TRACK 02 AUDIOPREGAP 00:02:00INDEX 01 25:30:28TRACK 03 AUDIOINDEX 01 27:36:74TRACK 04 AUDIOINDEX 01 29:40:50TRACK 05 AUDIOINDEX 01 31:44:19TRACK 06 AUDIOINDEX 01 33:54:39TRACK 07 AUDIOINDEX 01 36:04:23TRACK 08 AUDIOINDEX 01 38:14:40TRACK 09 AUDIOINDEX 01 40:15:55TRACK 10 AUDIOINDEX 01 42:19:25TRACK 11 AUDIOINDEX 01 44:31:12TRACK 12 AUDIOINDEX 01 46:34:68TRACK 13 AUDIOINDEX 01 48:38:46TRACK 14 AUDIOINDEX 01 50:42:58TRACK 15 AUDIOINDEX 01 52:52:59TRACK 16 AUDIOINDEX 01 55:00:54TRACK 17 AUDIOINDEX 01 57:03:31TRACK 18 AUDIOINDEX 01 59:05:73TRACK 19 AUDIOINDEX 01 61:03:22TRACK 20 AUDIOINDEX 01 63:09:31TRACK 21 AUDIOINDEX 01 65:47:21TRACK 22 AUDIOINDEX 01 65:53:30
Copied both to ~/dosbox. However, DOSBox crashes whenever I mount the image (with imgmount d ~/dosbox/MERCENARIES.cue -t iso), leaving this on the terminal:
“Segmentation fault (core dumped)”
What could be causing this?
Hi I'm a newb with dosbox and am really trying hard to play mercs again. I have been steadily making progress but it's been rough. I'm running dosbox .65 and every time I launch a mission it says causeway error 12 not enough memory. I've seen a host of solutions, but a lot of them take basic information like cd imaging for granted; I don't know what that is. If anyone can help me get this game running again I'll proclaim your greatness around the world.
dosbox .65 ???
maybe try dosbox .01 ...
hmm, i'm told it should work with .65 and .73, but no version works without first correcting an image-mounting-related problem, or a memory allocation problem, and I have no idea how to solve either of them. thanks though.
I also don't know how to install the 1.05 and 1.06 patches. anyone know?
try daemon tools
try more memory in dosbox/ different types of memory
