First my specs: 600watt Zalman PSU, Asus A7V-400MX mobo, Athlon 2600+ XP 2.0ghz CPU, 2GB kingston PC-2700 RAM, Leadtek Nvidia 7600 GS gfx, 7200rpm 8mb cache WD 80GB P-ATA hdd system disk, LG 52x CD/16x DVD-/+R/RW combo IDE drive, onboard VIA Realtek sound, RME Hammerfall 9652 sound (unused for gaming, only for pro audio uses) - and soon to add a firewire 800 pci card.

I can play this in compatibility mode in windows and the saves work.. but in dosbox they won't save or load. Any help? Without dosbox I have no sound šŸ™

DOSBox status window says nil because it is an ingame problem. The ingame message is 'Cant Creat Save File!' (sic) or something like that

Hmm I knew the stuff posted there but I found my problem anyway - this was one of the first abandonware I had tried to get running so I had installed it originally without dosbox. Having reinstalled again in dosbox and mounting so the game appears in dosbox as c:\body has helped and now my saves work. Hazzah!

Ok it doesnt work again, but kind of different issue.

The reason I couldn't save the game was because in dosbox I playing it off the CD, so it was trying to save in the read-only area. But if I don't set '-t cdrom' it won't load MSCDEX and therefore the game.

But if I run BC.BAT from the C:\BODY install directory, it won't load the music, but it WILL load and save savegames. Is there a way around this?? It's so weird it won't play the music. Even if I copy the whole contents of the CD the game directory it won't, it must still be referencing the CD drive letter. But it won't play them unless I load BC.BAT from the CD mount.. so annoying..

I need the music it kicks ass... but I really need saves too...

maybe u misread my meaning?? I use abandonware for term of any old game you can't get anymore. Even ones I own like this, Hell Cyberpunk Thriller, GTA etc. Also I use term 'dosbox' to describe my win 95 hardware!

I guess if not work I just go back to playing it on my Pentium 200mhz win 95 machine, rather than try on your program for my new machine.

all your settings you posted above are totally messed up and makes no sense. so post them correctly
and install the game inside dosbox like it was in the guide
