When getting ready to play a game mt32 configured game. Sometimes the port even changes from the default 128 leaving me confused about why i have no sound.

Anyway 2 things to ask:
1) is the emulation of hardware devices like that set up so they start when they are needed or do they start at the dosbox prompt?

2) Now that i'm exclusively on ubuntu i'd like to ask if there is some repository (x86-64) with the mt32 patch incorporated. Munt is very good however it still requires me to start the deamon manually. I guess this is the ideal solution right? I dislike installing things manually (i eventually like to uninstall things and i don't like to keep the install dir), so i'd like to do apt-get remove eventually.
