I want to start a new character in Ultima II: Revenge of the Enchantress. However, whenever I select 'create new character', I am given the message "NOT BLANK PLAYER DISK" by the game. I'm not entirely sure where my current (doomed and unsavable) character is saved to disk. No instructions on how to delete characters are included with the manual that came with my version (The EA Gold Ultima Collection). I found something about wiping the PLAYER file in the ultima2 directory with notepad on the Gametap forums with a google search, but this didn't remove my old character. Deleting the PLAYER file and replacing it with the one on the Ultima Collection CD also did not delete my old character. I'd rather like another chance at the game instead of only getting one play-through ever. How do I make a new character?

I am using Dosbox 0.74 with the D-Fend Reloaded v 1.0.0 frontend, on a Windows 7 Pro 64x machine. The edition of the game is the EA Gold Classics ultima collection release. The game has been patched with the Ultima II restoration patch, which returns the outer planet maps. The patch was installed through Virtual PC XP mode to allow 16-bit apps to run.
