I am helping a friend get Gender Wars to work on his machine but when I run the game the video looks fuzzy and scrambled.

The machine
2.9 GHz i7
8 GB ram
NVidia Gforce 8400 GS

DOSBox 0.74
machine=vesa_nolfb

I can get it to work on my machine.
2.2GHz Pentium dual core
4GB ram
on-board video

DOSBox 0.65
machine=vga

someone suggested to change uvconfig versions but I do not know how that is done. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
