Hey everyone. I am new to this forum, but I am fairly good with learning how to install games and use them. So here comes my problem: I am able to play System Shock up to the screen where you go to start the game. But after I click on the Start button, I get the following error message:

Our system has been shocked!! But remember to Salt The Fries
System Shock can no longer run due to a fatal error.
Error code 4007
File error
Error creating initial game - Likely insufficient disk space.

I have read up on a few sites about how to solve this problem. And I have tried using both the Memsize command line to increase the memory size of dos box and I have even tried adding the following command line to the auto-exec part of the dos box editing program:

mount c c:\Games -freesize 999

But none of these solutions seem to work. Any help is appreciated.

By the way, I downloaded this game from abandonia.com

I had also tried to get the system shock portable, but when I tried to use StuffIt to open it, there was nothing to open.

What am I doing wrong? Please help?

For start, why are you blue?
Games downloaded from abandonware sites aren't supported on this forum. You'll have to seek help on the site you got it from.
Actually I downloaded it myself and started a new game just fine.

Okay, well I got One Must Fall: 2097 to work on Dos Box just fine. But what I wanna know now is how do I install System Shock Portable? As far as I know, there is no way to extract the files of System Shock Portable using the StuffIt application. So, is there any other way to install it? Or am I out of luck as far as playing System Shock is concerned?

I think you should disallow users with less than 100 posts to change font colors. Highly annoying, hard to read and just screams "I'm a newbie, haven't read the readme, nor any guide. Hold my hand and solve my problem!"

-freesize 999 make no difference. Troubles are started with 512+ Mb freesize.
So, try -freesize 500 as example.

Asus P4P800 SE/Pentium4 3.2E/2 Gb DDR400B,
Radeon HD3850 Agp (Sapphire), Catalyst 14.4 (XpProSp3).
Voodoo2 12 MB SLI, Win2k drivers 1.02.00 (XpProSp3).

Hmm...I did not think of typing freesize-500. I think I should try it. Thanks I guess for the help. At least to those of you who replied to this topic. 😒
