I was going to wait for AMD's Bulldozer, but now i'm very keen on building a Sandy Bridge based ITX rig.... For gaming π
This is a rough idea of what i want... I still need to decide on the brands/models for a few parts:
Intel Core i5 2500K CPU (not sure what cooler to use yet)
Socket 1155 ITX mobo
Silverstone SG07 ITX case with a single 12V rail 600W PSU
8gb DDR3 RAM
2TB hard drive
Slimline Blu-ray/DVD/CD combo drive
2GB Radeon 6950 GPU (pretty much on par with Nvidia's GTX 570 but consumes less power, runs cooler, features more RAM and is cheaper to buy π)
I'm gonna ditch my big old power draining Core i7 940 rig... well i'm gonna sell it actually π
Good thing i decided not to rush out and buy a Sandy Bridge setup... There's a major design flaw with the H67 & P67 chipsets and all motherboard production has come to a halt! Well that's my mini ITX gaming rig on hold for the moment. Hopefully AMD won't have any issues with their Bulldozer platform.
