I have downloaded Railroad Tycoon from 2k website. Program runs fine until it asks me to id the locomotive. At this point I lose cursor control and am not able to enter a response. dosbox will not let me enter any commands either. Any suggestions to help me fix this? 😢
IIRC, CTRL+F10 to lock the mouse.
Also it's probably using an old version of DOSBox so you'll need to update it to the latest ver (DOSBox 0.74).
Thanks for the suggestion but I've tried that already. CTRL f10 just makes the cursor disappear. I can use alt-tab to bring it back but still won't let me enter a response. I though entering keymapper command in dosbox would work but won't let me in. Tried downloading updated version of dosbox but it won't recognise it .exe tried renaming directories but that didn't work either. Anyway that you can delete/disable the copyright protection?
The mouse is disabled on the copy protection screen; use the cursor keys to move the highlight bar over the correct response and press enter.
It does seem like it would make sense to be able to use the mouse on the copypro screen, but it's intentionally disabled by the game, for whatever reason. BTW, the download from 2K uses DOSBox 0.65; I guess they've not felt the need to keep it updated.
I've reinstalled the damm thing and now it is working. Don't know why but thanks for your help.
