I have almost finished a new computer. What started out as a media centre PC for my girlfriends house turned into a second gaming machine for my bedroom at my Dad's house. I honestly don't know how that happened. 🙄
But fear not, I have already started another machine more suited to a media PC for us to enjoy Firefly on.
My question is, do you think this is a well balanced PC or should I move parts around ...
P4 Prescott 3.4Ghz with a decent AKASA cooler (idle at 40c, load at 52c)
2 Gig Elixer DDR400 dual channel
Gigabyte 8S661FXMP-RZ motherboard
120 gig Sata HD
ATI x1950xt AGP 8x 256mb
Audigy 2 ZS PCI
Windows XP 32bit SP2
I could I suppose OC the CPU but is there any point? I'm using the PC to play direct x 9 games at 1280x1024. So far everything runs fine. I have my main PC which only plays Starcraft 2 or Quake Live at the minute.
I thought putting in my 2900xt was overkill, and I would need to buy a 600W PSU at no little cost. The x1950xt runs fine with the 450W currently installed.
Is it a well rounded PC? Circa top end 2007?
